The 1st Lotus excel is up for sale.

The 1st Lotus Eclat Excel (chassis no 1144) is up for sale or will be broken up for parts.

The replacement for the Eclat (last chassis number was 1143), this clyapso red Excel may well have been the show car at the Paris motorshow (1981 ish?) as Excel production was from 1982. The official introduction car was chassis 1148 according the Lotus archive but as they put it, there records are mainly focused on the cars off the production line.
