Do you have a (Classic or Exclusive) British car ?
It’s a pleasure for us, a famous Classic car association from Flanders (Belgium), to invite you to our “British Classics & Exclusive Cars in Flanders Fields” Scenic Tour.
In 2008 we organize for the 2nd time the Remembrance Scenic Tour. This time we have chosen for a all inclusive weekend “ in Flanders Fields” in memory of the fallen British Friends during the great war.
Flanders Fields – Remembrance Scenic Tour
From 1914 to 1918 the 'Westhoek', the western part the Province of West-Flanders, i.e. the area of Ieper (Ypres) was the scene of the Great War. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers of more than 20 nationalities fell in this conflict. After the often pointless battles and vast destruction, the Westhoek rose from its ashes.
Today the Westhoek wants to spread a message of peace all over the world, with different war memorials and sites. We ‘ll visit most of them during the weekend.
Program
The all-inclusive weekend starts on Friday august, 22 at 16.00 p.m. at the Novotel Hotel in the center of Ypres and ends on Sunday august, 24 at 18.00 p.m. (note : Monday 25, august is a bank holiday). A simple tulip road-book with descriptions of the places of interest on the route is provided.
On Saturday, we follow a 120-miles route, passing the most interesting sites of the Flanders Fields.
The route on day two, Sunday, is a 120-miles route taking regional scenery routes. You can enjoy the scenery and even stop on the way to enjoy the views or take pictures. The emphasis is on a relaxed, social, fun event in the company of likeminded people in some of the most beautiful parts of the country.
No competition licenses or memberships of any particular car club are required. All meals, some drinks, gifts and the entry fee for a visit to a place of interest during the different stops are included. (see program
